The Science of Dry Food Protection

Under the principles of Search Quality Rater Guidelines, we provide key engineering data highlighting how physical properties safeguard product integrity.

Understanding Moisture & Oxygen Decay Pathways

Dry foods—ranging from milk powders, infant formulas, and protein compounds to pet foods, freeze-dried snacks, and grains—suffer physical and chemical breakdown when exposed to moisture, oxygen, and light. When the relative humidity inside a pouch increases, dry goods aggregate, loose crunchiness, and undergo microbial proliferation. Furthermore, lipid oxidation in high-fat dry foods (such as nuts and pet kibble) leads to rancidity and strong off-odors.

To block these degradation pathways, our packaging bags utilize sophisticated multi-layer structures. By pairing protective outer layers with highly impermeable metalized barriers, we limit physical gas diffusion. Our typical laminates feature layers of Biaxially Oriented Polyester (BOPET) for high structural strength, Aluminum Foil (AL) or Metalized Polyester (VMPET) for light and gas insulation, and Linear Low-Density Polyethylene (LLDPE) to deliver strong, reliable heat seals.

Material Engineering & Barrier Performance Comparisons

The performance of dry food packaging is evaluated based on two standard scientific benchmarks: Water Vapor Transmission Rate (WVTR) and Oxygen Transmission Rate (OTR). Our research and development lab has formulated materials that achieve exceptionally low transmission thresholds:

Laminate Configuration Barrier Level WVTR (g/m²/24hr) OTR (cc/m²/24hr) Primary Application
PET / AL / LLDPE Ultra-High < 0.05 < 0.05 Infant Formula, Coffee, Dehydrated Spices
PET / VMPET / PE High < 0.5 < 1.0 Pet Food Bags, Granola, Freeze-Dried Fruit
Kraft Paper / VMPET / PE High < 0.8 < 1.5 Artisanal Tea & Coffee, Organic Cereals
Mono-PE Recyclable Medium-High < 1.2 < 2.5 Eco-friendly Dry Food Brands

Advanced Oxygen & Gas Control

Multi-layer films engineered to preserve nutritional profiles, vitamins, and natural oils in dry foods, preventing oxidative chemical changes.

Hermetic Moisture Barriers

Guaranteed low Water Vapor Transmission Rates (WVTR) stop powder clumping, preserve food crispness, and block mold growth.

ESD Safety & Clean Processing

By blending our food packaging expertise with specialized anti-static film manufacturing, we eliminate powder static cling and seal contamination.

Operational Philosophy

Corporate Culture & Quality Control

At our core is a deep-seated passion for delivering packaging solutions that consistently meet and exceed client expectations. Our highly skilled team of professionals adheres to strict operational standards across every phase of production. From raw material sourcing to polymer processing, high-definition flexographic printing, and final logistics, we prioritize structural integrity and precision.

Our aluminum foil sheets and custom vacuum bags are designed to protect items from moisture, UV radiation, and other environmental impacts. Additionally, our ESD-safe static shielding films prevent charges from building up during transit, ensuring sensitive components remain secure. Our high-vacuum bags also extend the shelf life of perishable products, making them ideal for specialized medical and food storage needs.

We are deeply committed to corporate sustainability and environmental responsibility. We actively work to minimize our environmental footprint by using energy-efficient machinery, recovering solvents, and minimizing scrap materials. Moving forward, ESD-PAC VINA will continue to expand our eco-friendly packaging options, helping clients transition to a circular economy.

Global Integration

Global Distribution & Supply Chain Resilience

Operating from Quy Vu Industrial Park in Vietnam, we provide cross-border logistics advantages and reliable supply chain security.

In today's complex international market, supply chain resilience is essential. Operating from Bac Ninh, Vietnam, ESD-PAC VINA serves as a key logistical gateway. The province's modern infrastructure and proximity to major maritime shipping lanes allow us to provide reliable, tariff-advantaged shipments to North America, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific region.

Our packaging solutions are tailored to meet regional needs. We keep step with localized regulatory environments, including FDA standards for direct food contact in the United States, EU plastics directives, and RoHS/ESD-safe compliance regulations for electronic items. This proactive approach ensures our clients avoid import delays and regulatory friction.

Custom Tariffs & Shipping

Take advantage of free trade agreements (FTAs) linked to Vietnam, ensuring cost-efficient shipping to global markets.

FDA & CE Regulatory Alignment

All materials intended for food contact undergo migration testing to comply with international health and safety codes.

Tailored Technical Support

We work directly with food brands to adjust gas ratios, seal temperatures, and bag shapes for different packaging machines.

Knowledge Base

Industrial Q&A: Food Packaging Solutions

Expert technical answers addressing common inquiries from quality control managers, procurement officers, and food safety experts.

Q1: Which laminates work best for high-fat dry foods?
High-fat products like nuts and pet foods need strong grease resistance and reliable oxygen barriers to prevent rancidity. We recommend multi-layer laminates like PET/AL/PE or PET/VMPET/PE. The aluminum layer blocks out light and gas, extending the shelf life of sensitive oils.
Q2: How do your factories prevent static build-up in powdered foods?
Fine powders like coffee and protein mixes can generate static friction on packing lines, interfering with heat seals. To prevent this, we integrate anti-static additives into the inner sealant layer. This ensures clean, secure seals, even when packing fine materials.
Q3: Are the materials used at ESD-PAC VINA FDA-compliant?
Yes. All materials intended for direct contact with food are made from FDA-approved raw resins. Our manufacturing plants maintain ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certification to ensure consistent quality and safety.
Q4: What is the advantage of sourcing packaging from Bac Ninh, Vietnam?
Located in the Quy Vu Industrial Park, our facilities offer excellent logistics connectivity and tariff advantages. Working from Vietnam helps international buyers diversify their supply chains, manage risk, and keep shipping costs competitive.
Q5: Can you supply custom printed rollstock for automated packaging equipment?
Yes. We offer fully finished bags—such as stand-up doypacks, flat pouches, and gusseted bags—as well as custom printed barrier rollstock. This ensures compatibility with most automated Form-Fill-Seal (FFS) machines.
Q6: Do you offer recyclable or sustainable flexible barriers?
Yes. We offer mono-PE films that deliver high barrier performance while remaining compatible with PE recycling streams, helping brands meet their sustainability goals.
